Alex is passionate about giving back to the community, serving on Boards at the Simi Valley Hospital, The Boys and Girls Club, and chairing the Troop Turkey-a-Thon!
Food drives are essential for the Salvation Army in helping provide food to those in need. Every year at Thanksgiving time Alex Gandel chairs the county-wide Troop Turkey-a-Thon sponsored by Troop Real Estate. This year will be the 14th Annual Troop Turkey-a-Thon with distribution centers anticipated in Oxnard, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Ojai, Santa Paula, Camarillo, Ventura and Moorpark. The Salvation Army of Simi Valley partners with the Troop Turkey-a-Thon to feed thousands of qualified people a Thanksgiving meal. A donation of $20 will feed a family of eight people! The meal consists of a frozen turkey, potatoes, canned green beans, cream of mushroom soup, a box of stuffing, cranberry sauce, rolls and sometimes pies if the budget allows.
Although Thanksgiving seems to be several months away, with Alex Gandel’s leadership, and the tireless effort of many Troop Agents and community volunteers, Troop Real Estate is beginning to gear up for this much anticipated and needed event once again!

Brad Gandel has recently graduated from UC Riverside with a B.A. in Sociology Administrative Studies. He is strongly interested in history and people.
Having been an all-star athlete all of his life, Brad’s passions include sports of all kinds. He has been a past youth coach volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club, he worked for Pinecrest School in Simi Valley for six years as a camp counselor/teacher assistant and he is also involved every year in the Annual Troop Turkey-a-Thon which was founded by Alex Gandel in 1999.
Brad obtained his real estate license in March of this year and is going to be working as a Realtor Associate with Alex’s office. After growing up with real estate in his life on a daily basis and watching his father impact so many lives over the years, Brad decided to follow his father’s footsteps and become a Realtor. He expects to be Alex’s boss within five years, (which is okay with Alex).
